  • Breezy Belle Boat Cruise

    Embark on a delightful adventure with the Breezy Belle.

    The Breezy Belle offers a scenic and leisurely cruise on the beautiful waters of Pelican Lake. Step aboard this charming paddlewheel boat and immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance as you glide across the lake.

    Note: There’s no food service on the boat, but they do serve beverages (both alcoholic and non).

    With spacious seating and panoramic views, the 100-passenger Breezy Belle creates the perfect setting for relaxation and enjoyment. Find it docked next to Dockside Lounge at Breezy Point Resort. You can book the Belle for a custom event, or reserve your place on any of the regular cruise days (usually Wednesday evenings and Sunday afternoons).

    Pro tip: Bring a jacket. It’s often cooler on the water.

  • Breezy Point Channel Park Fishing Dock

    Breezy Point has a public fishing dock located on the channel of Pelican Lake, accessible on Breezy Point Drive.

  • Breezy Point Public Beach

    The Breezy Point public swimming beach on Pelican Lake offers a delightful spot to cool off and enjoy the beauty of this picturesque lake. The sandy beach stretches along the shoreline, complemented by a rocky edge, providing a picturesque setting that perfectly encapsulates the charm of the area. Relax on the sand or wade into the water while you enjoy the views.

    Located at 29838 Sand Beach Drive (scroll down for directions), this sandy beach welcomes both locals and tourists seeking a refreshing dip in the crystal-clear waters.

    While the parking space is limited, it provides convenient access for beachgoers eager to soak up the sun and take a refreshing swim. The beach also features a bathroom facility.

    It’s important to note that the Breezy Point public swimming beach does not have a lifeguard on duty. Visitors are encouraged to exercise caution and take appropriate safety measures when swimming in the lake.

  • Crow Wing State Park

  • Deacon’s Lodge Golf Course

    Deacon’s Lodge golf course is an esteemed 18-hole championship course located in the heart of Breezy Point, Minnesota.

    Designed by the legendary Arnold Palmer, this course showcases exceptional craftsmanship and harmonious integration with the natural surroundings. Deacon’s Lodge is ranked as one of the top ten public courses by Golf Week Magazine. It was also ranked as one of America’s 100 greatest public courses by Golf Digest. However this comes with a price, as this is the most expensive golf course in Breezy Point.

    The fairways are challenging, yet rewarding. Strategically placed hazards demand precision and strategic thinking. With its picturesque landscapes, Deacon’s Lodge provides a serene backdrop for an enjoyable golfing experience.

  • Disc Golf Course

    Located in the heart of Breezy Point, the Breezy Point Disc Golf Course is a beloved destination for disc golf enthusiasts. This public course offers a nature-immersive and challenging experience amidst the serene natural surroundings of Breezy Point.

    The Breezy Point Disc Golf Course provides a well-designed layout that caters to players of all levels. With its scenic fairways and carefully placed obstacles, this course offers a mix of open shots, technical challenges, and strategic approaches.

  • Four Seasons Trail

    Breezy Point’s Four Seasons Trail offers a scenic and versatile outdoor experience for visitors and residents alike. Originally dedicated by developers in 1978, this two-mile loop trail has become an integral part of the city’s landscape.

    The trail, which is still owned by the City of Breezy Point, is cared for through a joint agreement with the Pelican Conservation Club. Accessible to the public at no charge, the trail provides a parking lot conveniently located on Winter Trail, just east of Ranchette Drive.

    Offering a grass surface, the Four Seasons Trail welcomes walkers, cyclists, cross-country skiers, and snowshoers, providing an opportunity to explore the picturesque woodlands of Breezy Point. With strict regulations against motorized vehicles, visitors can immerse themselves in the peaceful surroundings.

    As an added bonus, the trail’s undeveloped areas hold promise for expanding walking and skiing opportunities in the future, ensuring there’s always something new to discover along the Four Seasons Trail.

    Note: In the last time that the authors have lived in Breezy Point, we have not seen the trail maintained in the winter. So plan accordingly.

  • French Rapids

    French Rapids, located in Brainerd, Minnesota, is a captivating natural gem nestled along the picturesque Mississippi River. This idyllic spot attracts nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts seeking tranquility and scenic beauty.

    The rapids, formed by the river’s tumultuous flow over rocky terrain, create a mesmerizing spectacle of rushing water and foaming rapids. Visitors can explore the area’s rugged beauty by hiking along nearby trails or embarking on a leisurely paddle down the river.

    French Rapids also offers excellent opportunities for winter activities, like cross country skiing and snowshoeing. Amidst the serene surroundings, wildlife abounds, providing glimpses of bald eagles soaring overhead and swans swimming in the river.

  • Gooseberry Island

    Gooseberry Island is a long and narrow strip of land in Pelican Lake, with sandy beaches on both sides. Gooseberry Island has become a go-to party spot, where boats line up along the shore, creating a lively atmosphere that’s perfect for floating on your favorite floaties, sipping on refreshing drinks, and having an absolute blast with your pals.

    Despite being under resort ownership, the island remains accessible to the general public, further augmenting its appeal and popularity.

    In addition to its chill ambiance, Gooseberry Island has an interesting history with an unlikely creature: Goats. The resort strategically introduced temporary goat residents to the island, employing their presence to manage the growth of poison ivy and regulate vegetation.

    Though the island no longer accommodates resident caprines, Gooseberry is still bustling with wildlife activity. The east side is inhabited by large flocks of birds, a rookery, prominently occupied by seagulls and cormorants.

    So whether you’re in the mood for a lakeside shindig, an island picnic, or a front-row seat to the avian world, Gooseberry Island on Pelican Lake promises an unforgettable adventure that blends social fun with the wonders of nature.

  • Nisswa Falls Mini Golf

    Nestled in the charming town of nearby Nisswa, Nisswa Falls Mini Golf is a delightful destination for both locals and visitors seeking a fun-filled day of adventure.

    This enchanting 18-hold mini golf course offers a captivating blend of natural beauty and challenging obstacles, creating an immersive experience for players of all ages. As you navigate through the intricately designed holes, you’ll encounter cascading waterfalls, lush greenery, and “up north” bear-themed scenery that transports you to a whimsical world.

    Nisswa Falls Mini Golf is located just off the roundabout in Nisswa, right beside the Paul Bunyan Trail.

     

  • Paul Bunyan State Trail

    Spanning a remarkable 120 miles, this multi-use paved trail winds its way through stunning forests, past tranquil lakeshores, and connects charming communities along the way. The trail follows the original railroad line built in the late 1800s (and later abandoned) from Bemidji to Brainerd.

    Maintained by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the trail is a testament to the state’s commitment to preserving its natural beauty and providing a recreational haven for bikers and hikers alike.

    Whether you’re seeking a leisurely stroll through nature or an invigorating bike ride, the Paul Bunyan State Trail promises an adventure that will leave you with lasting memories.

    One of the highlights of the Paul Bunyan State Trail is the numerous attractions and amenities located along its path. As you venture along the trail, you’ll encounter inviting towns that offer opportunities for rest, refreshments, and exploration.

  • Paul M Thiede Fire Tower Park

    Paul M Thiede Fire Tower Park, located in Breezy Point, Minnesota, is a captivating destination that offers a glimpse into the region’s rich history and breathtaking natural beauty.

    The park is home to several short wooded trails, but the focal point is the historic fire tower, which served as a vital tool in fire detection and prevention during the early 20th century. As you ascend the tower, you’ll be rewarded with panoramic views of the surrounding landscape, including the lush forests, sparkling lakes, and rolling hills that make Breezy Point a haven for outdoor enthusiasts and nature lovers.

    The park also features a picnic area, and exhibits that provide insights into the role of fire towers and their significance in protecting the forested areas. There’s a small parking lot and bathrooms at the entrance to the trail.

    Note: The park is closed in the winter.

  • Pelican Lake Public Beach

    Situated on the eastern side of Pelican Lake, Pelican Beach Park provides a picturesque setting for beachgoers and plenty of parking. This beach is family friendly, with changing rooms, bathrooms, and picnic tables.

  • Shaka Putt Mini Golf

    Shaka Putt, a new addition by Breezy Point Surf Co, launched in June 2024. This 18-hole mini golf course features an island theme, offering a fun and relaxing escape from the everyday routine.

    Conveniently situated across from the Commander on County Road 11, and just a short distance from the entrance to Breezy Point Resort, Shaka Putt is easily accessible for both residents and visitors.

    The course is visually appealing, with a mix of blue and green turf enhancing the island feel. Each of the 18 holes provides a unique challenge, yet remains approachable for players of all ages and skill levels.

  • Traditional Golf Course

    This 18-hole course offers a slightly short yet fun experience for golf enthusiasts of all levels. Though the course isn’t all that long (5,192 yards), it still offers challenges with tree-lined fairways and small and fast greens.

    Built in the 1920s by the Breezy Point Resort, this course is close to the resort action and energy. Expect to see bachelor parties or other groups enjoying their vacation. If you prefer a more serious or challenging outing, we recommend you check out Deacon’s Lodge!

    Of the three Breezy Point golf courses, this is the most affordable.

  • Veteran’s Hiking Trail

    The Veteran’s Hiking Trail is a 2.6-mile loop that goes through woods and along Upper Hay Lake in Breezy Point.

    To get to the trail, take County Road 16 to Pine Cone Lane. There’s a small parking lot and a well-maintained trail that is not paved. There are no bathroom facilities.

  • Whitebirch Golf Course

    This 18-hole course owned by Breezy Point Resort is designed to provide a memorable golfing experience for players of all levels. Whitebirch was actually the first championship golf course layout in the entire Brainerd Lakes Area.

    The fairways are wide and forgiving, making for a really enjoyable round. The course is meticulously groomed, and there’s a nice variety of holes. Of course the scenery is a major draw, as this course is set in the middle of beautiful pine trees and softly sloping hills.

    Of the three Breezy Point golf courses, Whitebirch is the mid-price option. There’s also a driving range and a pro shop.

  • Wildwedge Golf Course

    Wildwedge Golf Course is the closest golf course to Breezy Point that is not owned by the resort. With nine well-maintained holes, rolling fairways surrounded by pines, and well-placed bunkers, Wildwedge offers a fun and rewarding round of golf for casual players.

    Wildwedge is a par 3 course that offers a delightful, yet short, golfing experience. This family-owned and operated course provides an inviting atmosphere for golfers of all skill levels. For junior golfers, there’s a second set of larger holes on each of the greens.

    The rates are affordable, and there’s also a driving range and practice putting green.

    For family fun, try out the mini golf course and mystery maze that are also on site!

  • Wildwedge Mini Golf

    Get ready to embark on a mini golf adventure at 18-hole Wildwedge Mini Golf in nearby Jenkins, Minnesota. The owners claim it’s the most challenging course in the lakes area!

    A top-rated mini golf course by Minnesota Monthly and WCCO CBS, Wildwedge Mini Golf offers an exceptional experience that has captivated players of all ages. Unlike other courses that prioritize quick throughput, Wildwedge Mini Golf sets itself apart by providing a challenging and engaging course that ensures every golfer gets their money’s worth and enjoys extended playtime.

    The course features intricate hole designs, including a tranquil waterfall and ever-evolving landscaping, creating a picturesque and immersive setting.
