Accessing the Trail from Breezy Point


Unfortunately Breezy Point is not connected to the Paul Bunyan Trail. However it’s still easy to drive to a nearby trailhead to access the trail. These are the two most convenient routes.

Hop on the trail at Merrifield

To access the Paul Bunyan Trail from Breezy Point, head south on County Rd 4 toward Merrifield. The trailhead parking area will be on your right. There’s plenty of parking, and this is a great place to start your journey. You can choose to go south toward Brainerd-Baxter or north toward a number of charming small towns like Nisswa, Pequot Lakes, Jenkins, and Pine River.

Start biking from Pequot Lakes

Alternatively, you can also get on the trail in Pequot Lakes, which is near Breezy Point. From Breezy, head west on County Rd 11, drive through the roundabout, and head into Pequot Lakes. Turn left on Government Dr and look for the signs for the trail parking lot. From this trailhead, you can head north to Jenkins and Pine River. Or head south toward Nisswa.
