However, for those residing near Breezy Point, Minnesota, there is good news. Over time, a few delightful Thai dining establishments have emerged, each offering their unique flavors and dishes.

In this blog post, we will share three places we’ve been enjoying when we need to satisfy our Thai food cravings.

Lakes Tavern in Pequot Lakes

Located just a stone’s throw away from Breezy Point, Lakes Tavern in Pequot Lakes is a newly opened gem for food enthusiasts.

While they serve a variety of delectable dishes, their Thai-inspired offerings truly shine. From traditional staples like Thai green curry and Thai holy basil to more innovative creations such as peanut curry grouper and spicy Thai salad, their menu caters to a variety of tastes.

Personally, I tried the green curry, and it exceeded my expectations.

Drunken Noodle in Crosby

Another recent addition to the Thai food scene, Drunken Noodle in Crosby, is sure to captivate your taste buds. Situated in downtown Crosby, a 25-minute drive from Breezy Point, this restaurant offers a diverse menu with an emphasis on southwest Asian-inspired dishes using locally sourced ingredients.

Their menu features classic Thai favorites like yakisoba noodles, pad Thai, ramen, and vegetable stir fry. During my visit, I relished the spicy basil rice bowl with pork belly, which proved to be an extraordinary culinary experience. Trust me, it’s good! We also tried it with ground chicken, which was also good, though a bit more salty.

However, it’s worth noting that Drunken Noodle doesn’t serve curry dishes, although their Khao Soi ramen is a worthy substitute. For those with different preferences, they also provide non-Thai options like mac & cheese and fettuccine Alfredo.

Drunken Noodle is located at 102A West Main St, Crosby, MN. They are closed on Sundays and Mondays but open from 11 am to 2:30 pm and 4 pm to 8:30 pm from Tuesday to Saturday.

Charng Thai in Hackensack

For a truly authentic Thai dining experience, head up to Hackensack, a scenic 30-minute drive up the road from Breezy Point, and visit Charng Thai.

Despite its modest menu of only 12 entree items, this establishment has become a local favorite due to its commitment to authenticity. You’ll find Thai staples like pad Thai, fried rice, stir-fried vegetables, and tom yum soup.

As a self-proclaimed curry addict, I appreciate the two curry options available: The green curry soup and the pa-naeng soup. The pa-naeng curry, in particular, has won me over with its flavors, though I personally wish it had more vegetables and a thicker, saucier consistency. Nevertheless, the soup format remains true to Thai cuisine.

Another standout dish is the beloved pad Thai, which comes highly recommended by our other reviewer.

Charng Thai can be found at 106 State 371 S, Hackensack, MN 56452. They are closed on Mondays and open from Tuesday to Sunday, serving lunch from 11:30 am to 3 pm and dinner from 4:30 pm to 8 pm.
